#38 TOP 100 WINES of 2016 - Wine Enthusiast
The 2014 Effort" Pinot Noir is an aromatically pure Pinot Noir, showing a balance of ripe raspberry and earthy/spicy notes. It has a fine-grained tannin texture acting as a backdrop to ripe, black fruits. The finish is complex and long and will evolve in the glass over the course of an evening. This is a medium-bodied Pinot Noir and will lay down well for several years. We highly recommend giving this wine some "air time" to allow all of its lovely nuances to open up.
94 Wine Enthusiast - For the winery's lower-priced offering, this is a stunner. Baked black cherry, vanilla, raspberry, rose petals and a touch of licorice light up the nose. The lightly poised but intensely focused sip reveals a wild combo of fruit and spice, with sage, bay leaf, thyme and fennel laced through black cherry. It's like walking through the Central Coast scrubland.
